Jason Sunday

Born in Claremore, Oklahoma, Jason Sunday is a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation. With deep roots in the entertainment world, Jason grew up in a musical family. His paternal grandfather was a renowned fiddle player, and many of his aunts, uncles, and cousins were accomplished touring musicians. Family gatherings often turned into impromptu concerts, complete with a stage, guitars, and an array of instruments—a tradition that left an indelible mark on Jason’s creative spirit.

In high school and college, Jason earned a reputation as a "polymath," excelling in both creative and athletic pursuits. A standout athlete, he was scouted in high school to play professional baseball and went on to compete at the collegiate level as a masterful pitcher.

Jason’s love for performing began in elementary school, sparked by a teacher who introduced him to theater. By the age of 13, he was honing his musical talents, learning guitar, and developing his songwriting skills. At 15, he began composing original music, eventually writing for his own bands and collaborating with other musicians. Throughout his career, Jason has toured with his band, shared the stage with prominent artists, and even produced a pop song featured on radio stations, originally intended for an independent film.

Beyond music and acting, Jason has a passion for visual art. His original Cherokee-inspired paintings have won awards and been featured in multiple art installations. During his senior year of high school, he was offered admission to one of the nation’s top performing arts schools but chose instead to attend college and continue his baseball career.

Jason eventually reignited his passion for acting, dedicating himself to the craft through classes and workshops in auditioning, scene study, character development, and on-camera acting. He has trained in the techniques of Sanford Meisner and Stella Adler and continues to refine his skills whenever possible. Most recently, he has delved into method acting with Peter Kalos at Melbourne Actors Lab, further deepening his commitment to authentic and transformative performances.

His acting career has flourished, with roles in independent short and feature films as a lead, supporting, and principal actor. Many of these projects have been featured in film festivals, earning awards across the country. Jason’s dedication to authentic storytelling has also led him to write and direct his own Native-centered narratives, championing proper Native representation in film and media.

Jason’s multifaceted talents extend to voiceover work, music production, and live performances. His ability to seamlessly blend creativity, technical skill, and cultural authenticity has solidified his reputation as a true “polymath creative."
